Thinking about starting a diet for your New Year's Resolution????  To diet or not to diet....I say let's get started!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK MAJOR BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!! 109  now I just have to learn to maintain.  It looks like all I need to do is add about 400 low fat calories a day to my diet now!  I am very excited and yes I did get that little bitty bikini I was dreaming about fitting into...Just check out the photos...I know its been a long time since I have actually got into here to update this page but the results are great as of 03/26/2002!!!  I DID IT!!!

(2/8/2002)  116 two more pounds of ugly fat gone...Sorry it took so long for this last update.  I have been sequestered on a court case as a juror so I have been unable to make any updates but I have the day off and here goes.  This week was a little more than stressful.  My Son wrecked my car :(  (New TransAM so you can only imagine how I am feeling about now.  But I managed to maintain.  I can't believe I was actually able to do it with being under the strict guidance of the courts system.  We are only aloud to go to certain restaurants and we must stay with a bailiff at all times.  I guess I was lucky that I was able to smuggle my food in my purse and they had salads everywhere I went.  The skim milk alternatives also came in very handy as there was no place that actually had skim milk.  I guess there is yet another plus to the diet, when all else fails the foods are compact enough to stick in a purse along with some fruit :).  I have only 6 lbs to go and still counting down.  Here is the latest photo...so if I look like I have been wrung out wet looks aren't deceiving!  I am actually starting to see a bit more muscle tone in my arm.  I have been doing pull up.  I bought one of those cool little pull up bars for my bathroom door so I have been doing about 10 a night.  I can hardly wait for the weather to warm up a little more, I will get the old roller blades out again.  I started tanning again so I can really enjoy the new look.  I get all my tanning products from The TanShop off the main a-diet page.  Their products are drastically reduced as compared to the tanning salons.

(1/27/2002)  It looks like it's going to be a pound at a time for me....118 lbs today.  We had a holiday from work on Monday and I went to court with my son on Thursday so I guess my week has been a little off.  I was down to 117 until I ate Japanese food for dinner last night.  What I ate wasn't all that fattening but it contained a whole lot of salt!  Salt will make you retain water so I guess that was a valuable lesson learned.  It seems like I am prolonging things a bit eating out :) but you know, you have to still have a life and I am sure it will come back off shortly...check out this pic!

(1/14/2002)  Yet another update....I don't think this week is picture worthy so I am going to forego the pic this time.  The week went well except for having to go to Jury Duty....I still did ok on the diet though.  I am down 1 pound from last update.  I went out to dinner Saturday night and had fillet mignon and blackened shrimp...so I goofed! :)  but at least I still lost a pound right?  I am at 122 though and feeling great!  I don't usually cheat but about once a month or so I really crave a good steak.  To treat myself this week I bought a new pair of jeans and a tight t-shirt!  Hubby says I am starting to look really really good.

I just did my auto-ship reorder online and changed up my menu so I wouldn't get bored with what I am eating.  I ordered a lot more of the Mexican food items this time...and I am going to try the Chili.  I will let you know how it is on the next update!!!...Hope your diet is going well!...Never give up the ship, just turn it into a little sail boat instead....

(1/7/2002) Well here goes my first update since I started this site...Can you say 123?  Well, the week went well.  I haven't cheated unless you include the yummy diet food fudge bar deserts and ... :)  I tried the pepper steak for the first time since I started my diet and I have to say it was delicious!  I think it was my favorite thing I ate this week.  I did actually hit the gym on Saturday and jogged for about 25 minutes and lifted some weights.  I haven't been back since because I am really sore.  I also got an ab energizers they are selling now and am trying it on the waist to tighten it back up...I will let you know if that works too.  You are supposed to be able to see the results within 12 weeks..

I don't really think my picture is too drastic this time but I am sure and time goes by it will improve so here it is:

Well it looks like the 1-2 1/2 lbs a week thing is pretty correct as long as you follow the program.  It does seem like I was losing a little faster in the beginning but you know how it goes.  I never even came close to cheating until I saw my daughter eating fajitas for dinner tonight and believe me I was thinking about it but then I got my desert and I was ok again but the Mexican food is the true test for me.  It does seem like the size 5 jeans are fitting a little looser...God I just love say size 5 again!  I went clothes shopping this weekend and I can actually fit into a size three but they are pretty darn tight so I refuse to buy em!  I guess I will just wait until I hit my goal and really have a hay day at the mall!  I will get there again though because I am sticking to it!  Anyways, I will check back in next week and give you another update.  If you are dieting right now, Good Luck, Best Wishes and Keep Up the Good Work!

(1/1/2002)  I started mine back in late October of 2001'.  The reason I am writing this story is to tell you about the success I have had with the diet food program.  I am 35 years old and my height is 5'2". Even when you aren't  necessarily too much over weight it's enough to make you feel bad about yourself and your outlook on life just isn't as good as you would like it to be. After I quit smoking, my weight topped out at 158 lbs.  OH MY GOD!  I couldn't believe it!....That was more than I weighed when I delivered my son!  I knew I had to do something.  Obviously starting smoking again wasn't the answer so I looked and looked for another alternative...I found it online with the diet food program on a-diet.com.  So far, (1-1-2002) my weight has dropped down to 125 lbs. and I have more energy than I know what to do with and so far I have dropped 4 sizes in my jeans.  I didn't have trouble maintaining during the holiday season either because I am now eating 6 times a day!....WOW!  I actually get chocolate (which makes me and my hubby very happy) and chips.  I tried other high protein diets but I found as soon as I went off of them, I gained all the weight back and then some...I even tried joining those expensive diet programs where you have to go to the clinics and be weighed twice a week!  that worked too but that was just too inconvenient for me and I didn't stay on program because I had to prepare all of the foods myself (plus I was totally sick of grilled chicken!).  I still have to have a life while dieting!  I even tried Phentermine...that worked too but it made me feel terrible so I quit that too.  This programs lays out all of your meals for you which I like.  The convenience is awesome!  All I buy at the store are  salads, fat free salad dressings, and fruit, the rest is all shipped directly to my door.  They have on-line counselors and an on-line diet diary which I use to track what I am eating and I can look up how many calories my grocery store foods are.  I order all of my meals on-line too.  Another thing I love is the variety of food on the program.  If I don't like something that comes in the weekly package I just change it right then and there!  I find that the auto ship method works best for me because I never run out of food and I save money because I don't pay for shipping if I get a month at a time.

Because I live in Texas I have this thing for Mexican food...They have tasty food (tacos are good!) that appeal to my love for spices.  All of their foods are low in fat and I don't have to worry about reading labels anymore.  No more disgusting soy shakes for me.

I hope my story helps you to make the decision to lose the weight and stop smoking and start feeling better about yourself.  It really did help me and I know it can do the same for you.

Here is a photo that I am actually proud of:  I am taking this with a cam so I hope it comes out well!  As you can see, my face and my shoulders are starting to thin out...I no this isn't something that is too dramatic but it means a lot to me.  I will try to put up other ones (better ones where you can really see a difference) when I can get my scanner working.

This one was taken before I started on my diet... I was feeling a little bit like a football player.  I was in great shape for a Heavy Person!!! (LOL).  I was working out like 5 days a week only to find out I was putting on even more weight than before I started the heavy workouts ....by the way, this picture was taken at 140...I wouldn't even get in front of a camera at 158...

My Day

I usually get up about 6 am or so, then I start my day...I take my bath...then go downstairs to make the coffee....I go back upstairs and I get my breakfast out of my pantry in my bathroom (the food doesn't take up a lot of space to store) and grab my lunch and throw it in my purse (cute huh).  I got back downstairs...by that time the coffee is usually finished brewing...I will usually have blueberry muffins or a bowl of cereal or a granola bar for breakfast...I even get pancakes with lite syrup (2 tbs.) sometimes.  I always have breakfast with fruit and have water with all of my meals...I love to have blueberries with my pancakes or if I am in running late for work I just grab and apple or an orange and take the muffins with me..  Anyway, I eat it and run out the door for work.  The job I do is pretty stressful so I am running around all the time (operations for a computer company).  About 10 or 10:30 I get a glass of skim milk from the coffee shop and then at 12:30 or 1 I have my lunch which consists or the diet food lunch item I threw in my purse and I get a fresh salad from the cafeteria at work...I eat that with some fat free dressing (I don't use theirs to save money because I have to pinch the pennies but I have tried it and it's good).  I also have a diet soda in the afternoon too.  I usually drink Diet Rite or my true love Diet Coke.  Then about 4 pm I have an apple (fruit again).  I usually get off work by about 5 and head for the house.  About 6:30 or 7 pm I have my din din. This consists or my dinner entree', 8 ounces of skim milk, a half a cup or whole cup of veggies and a salad with fat free dressing.  About 10 or so I have my desert...the chocolate decadence bars are my favorite.  I think even if I wasn't on this diet they might be my desert of choice...They have a big assortment of deserts though I just tend to love those...Some of the things I eat are vanilla wafers, caramel corn, popcorn, hot fries, chocolate peanut butter bars, chocolate chip cookies...(you can tell I just love the desert part...this really helps me maintain when I watch my family eating ice cream and cookies)...Anyways...that's how I do it on the run...The meals usually take me less than 5 minutes to prepare and that's what keeps me on this diet.  I have two teenagers (16 and 14) so you can imagine that my time is very precious to me.  I am on the thousand calorie a day diet because my body is SOOOOOOO resistant to losing weight.  I have heard that men shouldn't drop below 1200 a day though.  diet food offer's 3 different diet plans depending on your own personal needs.  I think they add extra fruit and starchy veggies to the diets to do this...I can't believe I am actually drinking milk for the first time in my life...but if you can't drink it, they also offer the skim milk alternatives.  I take those on Sundays to church with me so I don't miss my meals.  Sometimes I do some crunches and leg lifts but not like I should and walking is highly suggested with this weight loss plan (I haven't started that either since I work in a building that is a quarter of a mile long... I get enough of that at work).

When I joined the program, I joined as an executive associate so that I could get my food at wholesale and sign up other distributors and associates and make some money along the way but only if the program actually worked.  This also kept me honest...I wouldn't even begin to try to sell something if I didn't personally know it worked.  It really erks me when I try something and it doesn't do it for me and believe me, I have tried a lot of em'!  But no matter what your motivations are for joining, It's a great diet program!  When I first started the program I was messing around with whether or not I wanted to join or not.  My start up kit came with roughly a week of food so I ate it...and liked it...of course I ran out and was left with trying to maintain on my own until I got the other food I ordered.  I know it says it takes 7 days to ship but I found that because UPS in my area (Texas) always leaves these annoying "sorry we missed you" notices instead of just dropping the packages at my back door it was taking me longer to get my food! Like 10 days if they tried to deliver it on a Friday. (Yet another reason to do the auto ship for a month at a time so I don't run out again.  When I ran out of food I got online and found a counselor that helped with create another order online and expedite it so I could get my food faster.  Expediting orders is not something that is just done online (one of my small complaints) so make sure you have what you need when you need it.  Another totally cool thing they offer on their site is the virtual model...it shows your weight loss literally and what your body would look like at your goal weight...they also offer fashion tips for your figure.  You can customize the model with your own characteristics such as face, eyes, hair color, frame build and height.  They also have a weight chart you can view if you don't know what your ideal weight should be according to your frame size.  They even have a place for you to weigh in and to read stories about other peoples weight loss and even chat with other members for support.  Lets face it, it's not always easy to pass up that cheese cake or alcoholic beverage when everyone around you is partaking.  They also have a place for fitness tips and equipment and a newsletter if you love to read.  Remember each individual loses weight at a different speed so never become discouraged.  When dieting, your body goes through plateaus and so for a  week or two you might not lose weight.  They offer vitamins and herbs and carb blockers to help with this. I have gone through two weeks of this too myself.  I have tried the herb and vitamins but not the carb blockers yet.  The average safe weight loss is 1-2 1/2 pounds a week but this does vary with the individual.

I will update this site with my dieting progress as I go and I hope it's inspirational to anyone who reads it.  If you are interested in this program, please click on this link...you can either become an executive associate, a distributor or just order the diet program...Good luck and here's the link:  http://www.a-diet.com/diet fooddirect  This link will tell you all about the whole thing.  If you have questions about the program, you can always email me and I will try to answer your questions about starting with diet food.

Check back soon because I will be updating this page as my journey goes along :)  My goal weight is 110 so watch me go!!!!  33 pounds gone and another 15 to go!  I'll get there! you just watch and see!
